قد لخّص كتاب "إقتباس الأنوار" والذي يقع في ستة أسفار، مجد الدين إسماعيل بن إبراهيم البلبيسي (728- 802هـ = 1328- 1399م) وأضاف إليه زيادات ابن الأثير على أنساب السمعاني وسمّاه "القبس".
والبلبيسي، من أهل بلبيس (بمصر) وكان قاضياً حنفياً، صنّف كتاباً في "الفرائض" وشرح "عقيدة الطحاوي"، وقد ولي قضاء الحنفية بالقاهرة.
