حاول الشاعر إبراز الأنا المتمردة رغم الحصار، تارة مغتربة وأخرى متلهفة واجتمعت ترسم معا كتلة شعرية للشاعر، وذات الأنا هي المحرك الديناميكي للحصار، ورغم مسحة الحزن التي تبدو للمتمعن، إلا أنه يبدو جلياً أن القصائد مليئة بالشعور الفياض، وبالإحساس المرهف الذي غرقت فيه وجعلته يتخلى عن الآخرين حين حاصر كله فغرق في ذاتيته. ديوان الشاعر فضاءات روحية، وإيحاءات كامنة محفزة بلغة رشيقة وصور رمزية و دلالات لا تخلو من فيض من الأحاسيس والرؤى التي تشير ولا تفصح، والمدرك والمدقق فيها يكفيه فهم أبعاد الرؤيا وتحسس ما هجس به الشاعر من رغبة في معادلة بالغة العمق وجوهرية الدلالة. يشمل الديوان 46 عنواناً هي مجموع القصائد التي احتواها، وفي نظرة سريعة لتلك العناوين يلمح القارئ أنها نابعة من المحيط الحيوي الذي يعيشه الشاعر، فقصائده تحمل العشق والغرام، والعاشق النرجسي بدأ متألقاً، وفيها من الهذيان والحزن والفلسفة ما يغزو القلوب ويثمل الروح انتهاء بالحصار، مترجلاً عند من قدت قميصه ... تظهر الصورة الشعرية لدى الشاعر حسام أبو غنام واقعية وجزئية مستمدة من إيجاد علاقات عبرت عنها الصورة الفنية الجميلة التي تبهر القارئ، وهذا ملاحظ في جميع القصائد، وما تمّ توظيفه من رموز أو حكايات فإنها تنقل القارئ إلى مرحلة فنية متقدمة.
