يهدف هذا البحث إلى الكشف عن القيم التي تميز العمال المنتجين والقيم التي تميز العمال غير المنتجين. ويتحدد هدف البحث في الإجابة عن التساؤل التالي: ما هي القيم-سواء كانت اقتصادية أو جمالية أو دينية أو نظرية أو اجتماعية-التي تسود لدى العمال المنتجين بشكل ملحوظ عنها لدى العمال المنتجين؟. ذلك في كل شركة ثم في مجموع الشركات، ويستند هدف البحث عن القيم المميزة للعمال في كل شركة على ما تتميز به كل صناعة في كل شركة من هذه الشركات من طابع تعمل على غرسه في عمالها أو من خلال هذا الطابع تتبنى لدى العاملين فيها اتجاهات معينة أو معايير أو مستويات في الحكم، ويقصد بهذا الطابع أن هناك صناعات تهتم بعامل الذوق الحسن في تشطيب منتجاتها لتلقى رواجاً بين المستهلكين، وهناك صناعات تهتم بكثرة الإنتاج وفرته في السوق مما يعود على العاملين في هذه الصناعة بالربح الوفير وما يرتبط بذلك من إشباع للعوامل اقتصادية لدى الفرد، وهناك من الصناعات ما يتسم طابع العمل فيها بالكتابة والقراءة وتصنيع الأشياء المرتبطة بهما من كتب ومجلات الخ...
ويسعى هذا البحث بعد ذلك إلى الكشف عن مكونات العلاقة بين القيم والكفاية الإنتاجية وبعض البيانات الخاصة بالعمال كالعمر، لدى مجموعة العمال المنتجين من جهة ولدى مجموعة العمال غير المنتجين من جهة ثانية لدى المجموعتين من العمال في جهة ثالثة.
