يهدف هذا المقرر إلى تعريفك الأمراض النباتية، بخاصّة التي تصيب المحاصيل الإقتصادية، ويهدف كذلك إلى تدريبك على مكافحة هذه الأمراض لحماية النباتات.
ينتظر منك بعد دراسة المقرر وتنفيذ جميع الأنشطة الواردة فيه تحقيق الأهداف التالية: 1-تعرف بعض المفاهيم الأساسية المتعلقة بالأمراض النباتية وكيف تطورت هذه المفاهيم تاريخياً، 2-تستوعب النظام البيئي الطبيعي والزراعي، 3-تلم بالمسببات المرضية الطفيلية وغير الطفيلية، 4-تدرك طرق مكافحة الأمراض النباتية، 5-تكتسب المهارات العملية في دراسة الأمراض النباتية الطفيلية وغير الطفيلية في البيئة المحلية وطرق مكافحتها.
ويتضمن المقرر ثلاثة عشر وحدة دراسية هي: نبذة تاريخية عن علم الأمراض النباتية، النظام البيئي الطبيعي والزراعي، مسببات الأمراض النباتية الطفيلية، أعراض الإصابة بمسببات الأمراض، العوامل البيئية التي تؤثر في الأمراض النباتية، الأمراض النباتية المتسببة عن الفطريات، الأمراض النباتية المتسببة عن البكتيريا، الأمراض النباتية المتسببة عن الفيروسات، الأمراض النباتية المتسببة عن النيماتودا، الأمراض النباتية المتسببة عن النباتات الزهرية المتطفلة، الأمراض النباتية غير الطفيلية، التدابير العامة المستعملة في مكافحة الأمراض النباتية.
