يتأسس النص عند روز شوملي مصلح على الحلم في علاقة أيقونة تقوم بين شطري الحضور والغياب. إن خصوبة اللغة عند الشاعرة تظهر بوضوح في "فرس الغياب" وتجعلها تحلّق عالياً في إثارة الدهشة لدينا وتحريرها من سكونيتها، إلى عالم أوسع ننثر فيه ذواتنا. فهي الشاعرة التي ترى في "الشعر منارة / والشاعر ربان سفينة / الحب إكليل غار / والكلمة مرآة القلب / الهدهد دليل / والقلب موحىً إليه". إن اشتغال الشاعرة روز على تأسيس بنية الغياب ونشرها سلسلة في جسد النص لا بل في مشهدها الشعري يعاضد الحلم كثيمة تغيب في منطقة اللاوعي للزمن الشخصي المتجسد في الذاكرة الشفرية، أي في ذاكرة الأنا الشاعرة. ففي نصها "لعلّ وعسر" تحرص على إيقاف مسلسل الغياب لكنها في النهاية تتعمد الغياب لتؤكد حتمية فكرتها الأساسية غياب الذكريات وحضور الحلم الذي يحرر لحظة الوجود القاسية، لتعلن في كينونتها كشاعرة في متاهات هذا العالم وظلاله.
تقول الشاعرة : "كان يهذي بظلّه / عندما أيقظه الحلم : / رأى الظلّ يصغرُ / في ابتعاد الشمس عن الأفقِ / رأى نفسه قزماً / ثم تلاشى الظل / عند انتصاف النهار / قال: سأنتظر المغيب ... / لعلّ ظلّي / من جديد / يكبر !".
ولفلسطين حصة في مفردات الشاعرة، لتشكل منها نصها الخاص متحدة مع القضية، مستحضرة ثيماتها في لغة درويشية ماثلة بذات الوجع العروبي وعلى قدر كبير من أيديولوجيا الحزن، وعبر لغة مشحونة بالدلالات الحميمة. في قصيدتها الموسومة "في بيت لحم" تقول الشاعرة: "في بيت لحم / ينبت الشعر على أوراق الشجر ... / كالندى / ينام دا ويصحو مبللاً / برعشة الصباح / في بيت لحم / يحلق عصفور في مدار الشمس / يحمل في منقاره قشة / ورعشة / وأغنية، / يحدق من علٍ / في غصنه المبلول / ويبتسم لي يا صباح النور" .
