وإن كتاب "الألفباء المصورة والأرقام" الذي أصدرته مكتبة لبنان، باعتماده الوسائل التعليمية الحديثة، واستخدام الرسوم والتدرج في التعريف بالأصوات، يجعل من تعلم القراءة عملاً مشوقاً محبباً إلى الأطفال.
أما كتاب "حديقة الألفباء والأرقام" هذا فإنه جاء مرافقاً لكتاب "الألفباء المصورة والأرقام" ومتمماً له، وقد صمم ونفذ بحيث يأخذ بيد الأطفال إلى تعلم الكتابة والتلوين، فتتكامل العلاقة بين الطفل والكلمة مقروءة ومكتوبة.
وكما فعلنا في كتاب "الألفباء المصورة والأرقام" اخترنا تسهيلاً على الأطفال، رسوماً يبدأ الحرف الأول لكل اسم منها بصوت الفتحة. كذلك استخدامنا أحدث الوسائل التعليمية والفنية التي لا تكتفي بتعليم الطفل الكتابة وإنما تتجاوز ذلك إلى تحبيب العمل الكتاب إليه، وتنمية إحساسه الفني، وتدريبه على المهارات العقلية واليدوية في وقت واحد.
وقد أكدنا على ناحية تربوية أساسية، وهي بناء شخصية الطفل بناءً صحيحاً، فجعلنا من همنا إشعار الطفل أنه قادر علة العمل، راغب فيه، مقبل عليه بنفسه. ومن هنا سمينا هذه السلسلة: "اقرأ واكتب ولون".
