هذا الكتاب: يقدم هذا الكتاب لهواة الثقافة بصورة عامة و للمهتمين بدراسة الآثار و تاريخ العمارة بصورة خاصة, فهو يتضمن بالإضافة الى التاريخ العمراني لمدينة القيروان موضوع القسم الأول قسماً ثانياً فيه دراسة تاريخية و هندسية لجوامع القيروان و هي حسب ترتيبها التاريخي: جامع عقبة بن نافع (الجامع الأعظم) و جامع الزيتونة و جامع الباي ثم الجوامع التي بنيت في العصر الحديث أي الفترة الزمنية التي تمتد من العام 1881الذي انتهت فيه تبعية إيالة تونس للدولة العثمانية الى أواخر العام 1993. و تختتم القسم بدراسة تاريخية و هندسية للمساجد القديمة و الحديثة و التي تقام فيها الصلوات الخمس و لا يوجد فيها منبر أي لا تقام فيها صلاة الجمعة و العيدين. و يضم القسم الثالث من الكتاب وثائق جمعية الأوقاف المتعلقة بالمساجد الجامعة و المساجد, و بموضوعات أخرى متنوعة, لما لهذه الوثائق من أهمية كبيرة للآثاريين و الفنيين العاملين في مجال ترميم مباني القيروان. و يلحق بالكتاب جدول يفسر المصطلحات الفنية و المعمارية و نماذج مصورة لهذه الوثائق.
