بطل هذه الرواية، شخص ترك كلّ شيء وراءه، ليهيم على وجهه بين المدن، يقوده حلم غامض مثير، شكّلته أصواتٌ ساحرة في أيام طفولته، وحالما يكتشف صعوبة تحقيقه، تظهر له إمرأة جميلة، لكنها غامضة غموض حلمه... معه نكتشف بأن نصف العالم يهيم معه، شعوب هاربة من الجوع والطغيان... لكنها تسير في الاتجاه المعاكس.
"محطة النهايات" رواية تدور أحداثها في روما، التي تلقي بظلالها الكثيفة على الأحداث والشخصيات.
