يعتبر " متن الغاية والتقريب " المعروف بـ" متن أبي شجاع " من أهم متون الفقه الشافعي، وقد اعتنى العلماء بشرحه ومن أهم من شرحه الخطيب الشربيني في كتابه " الإقناع" وقد وضع البجيرمي عليه حاشية، بين فيه غامضه، وذكر رأيه في بعض المواضع من الشرح وتظهر أهمية الكتاب لمن اطلع على الإقناع ورأى أنه ـ على عظمته ـ قد يشكل فيه رجوع الضمير، والموضع الإعرابي الذي به يختلف المعنى.
