يحاول هذا الكتاب أن يقدّم مساهمة جادّة تحوي مفاصلة مع النظريات السائدة في قضايا التقريب، إنّه يتقدم بعمق نحو المناطق الأكثر حساسيةً في العقل المذهبي ليمارس زحزحةً حقيقية لبعض المفاهيم، إذ بدون ذلك سيبقى التقريب شعاراً سياسياً يتمّ توظيفه لمصالح سلطوية وسرعان ما يجري لفظه بعيداً عندما تختلف الموازين وتتغيّر المواقع.
إن هذا الكتاب خطوة جريئة ونقدية حقّاً في الفكرين: الشيعي والسني، ترسي دعائم جديدة للتواصل.
