يقدم الفنان التشكيلي اللبناني من أصل عراقي "عمران موسى القيسي" كتاباً فريداً في الفن التشكيلي للفنان السعودي "طه الصبان" هذا الكتاب ليس استعراضاً لأعمال طه الصبان فحسب، بل هو عملية مزدوجة تبدأ بتفكيك مشروعه الفني وصولاً إلى أصفر مكوناته ثم تنتهي بتجميعه للوصول إلى المرحلة التي وصل إليها بلغة تعبيرية متكاملة، لذلك يسلط هذا الكتاب الضوء على فنان عربي معاصر منطلقاً من ثلاث مفاهيم في آن واحد: "مفهوم أول: بتأسيس عبر التجربة الإحترافية التي يمارسها الصبان" بهدوء وقناعة، لأنه لا يؤمن بنظرية حرق المراحل. مفهوم ثان: يقوم على قواعد غير ذرائعية، وهنا إذ يسقط هذا الفنان المفهوم "البراغماتي" للتجريبية، يمتلك مفاتيح مشروعه الراسخ، حتى لكأني بلوحته التي تنضج قبل البدء بتشكيلها، تصير السهم والهدف في آن واحد.
مفهوم ثالث: إدراك طه الصبان لموقعه ضمن هذا الجيل النشط من الفنانين السعوديين، فهو في حوار إيجابي عبر نتاجه مع نتاجات الآخرين. فلوحاته تجذب الأغين لما فيها من حداثة وذكاء ومقاربة مع السر الدفين لضمير الكائن المرهف.
تتميز لوحات طه الصبان في بداياته بالموروث المعماري السعودي، حيث أفتتن بالحارة، وجلسات الصيف والأشخاص الذين ينحصر زمانهم بالفسحة بين صلاة وصلاة.
أما بداية الانعطاف والتحول لديه فكانت ما بين عامي 1976 و1977، حين أقام معرضين في مدينتي كولشتر وغلاسكو البريطانيتين. حيث تميزت أعماله التي علقها هناك بالحداث الغربية.
يحتوي الكتاب على دراسة تفسيرية هامة لبعض الأعمال التي قام بها الفنان طه الصبان مع عرض لهذه الصور وخصوصاً في المجموعة التي اقتنتها مؤسسة المنصورية للثقافة والإبداع حيث تكشف هذه اللوحات عن مفهوم تعبيري قابل للتموضع في تلك المنطقة الحساسة بين التعبيري والتجريدي.
كتاب هام، بمثابة موسوعة فنية ومطالعة فكرية وبصرية وفلسفية لهذا الفنان الذي يعد المؤسس الأكثر ديناميكية وذكاء للتيار التعبيري التجريدي في اللوحة العربية المعاصرة.
