أعد هذا المؤلف خصيصاً لطلبة العلم في المراحل التعليمية كلها، إذ جمع فيه جل ما يمكن أن يحتاج إليه المتعلمون على صعيد اللغة العربية. فألقى شعاعاً على مادة الأدب –والأدب سجل تاريخي وحضاري- وأنار المعلومات التي تطلب من المتقدمين إلى الامتحانات المدرسية والرسمية، مزوداً إياهم بالفوائد الأدبية، والملاحظات التوجيهية، والثقافة العامة، طارحاً عليهم الأسئلة والأجوبة في قضايا تخص دراستهم وأضاف الكتاب إلى مادة الأدب، دروساً في البلاغة العربية وأهمية استخدامها، ومبيناً أسباب استخدام دروس النحو العربي في التعبير عن المعاني المقصودة، مشيراً إلى أهم ما يحتاج إليه المتعلم من علم العروض، كتابة وتطبيقاً، ذاكراً بعضاً من دروس تقنيات التعبير. وقد أعد كل ذلك، بأسلوب سهل محبب إلى النفس، قريب من الإفهام، فيه إيجاز شاف، ومعلومات دقيقة واضحة، لا تحتاج إلى إنعام فكر أو تعمق في التفكير، كي يسهل على ثلاثة أطراف أساسية في العملية التربوية والتعليمية، أن يلموا بها، لتوفير أفضل الظروف التعليمية المناسبة، وهم:
أولاً: المعلم، ليسهل عليه أمر الحصول على المعلومات الضرورية والمطلوبة منه، لتقديمها إلى طلابه، فتتحقق له فرصة امتلاك هذه المعلومات بصورة محددة واضحة.
ثانياً: المتعلم، ليؤكد المتعلم ثقته بنفسه، من خلال قدرته على معرفة القضايا الأدبية المقررة له، بشكل واضح ومحدد، مبتعداً عن الشروح الأدبية ذات الأسلوب الإنشائي المطول، مما يسهل عليه عمله في الإجابة عن الأسئلة المطروحة عليه في الامتحانات المدرسية والرسمية.
ثالثاً: الأهل، ليشعر الأهل بالراحة والطمأنينة، بتوفر مادة الأدب بين أيديهم، فتتحقق لهم مساعدة فلذات أكبادهم في فهمها واستيعابها. أليست الامتحانات الرسمية هدفاً يسعون إلى إنجاح أولادهم فيها؟
