الشاعر محمد العدناني (1903-1981)، أديب في العطاء، غزير النتاج، جاوزت مؤلفاته الخمسين، بين دواوين شعرية، وأبحاث لغوية، وقصص أدبية، وقضايا فكرية، وكتب مترجمة... وقد عمل في حياته على نشر عدد منها بلغ ثمانية عشر مؤلفاً، وبقي جل أشعاره، وتصانيفه وتآليفه تحت الركام، لم ير النور، ولم يطلع عليه إلا قليل.
وهذا الديوان "العدنانيات" يضم ما اختاره الشاعر من: شعره اقوي، ويضم دواوين الأربعة: فلسطين، واللهيب، وفجر العروبة، والوثوب (المجلد الأول)، وشعره الغزلي، ويضم ملحمة الأمومة، وديوان سلمى، وقلب، ووحي الفؤاد (المجلد الثاني)، وشعره في الوصف، والاجتماع، والرثاء، والموضوعات المتنوعة الأخرى، ويضم ديوانه: الروض، والعبير، وزهر، والغروب (المجلد الثالث)، وكل قصيدة من هذه المجموعات الثلاث تبدأ بأقدم قصيدة، وتنتهي بآخر قصيدة نظمها في موضوعها، مراعياً التسلسل التاريخي الدقيق لنظم القصائد، لكي يرى القارئ والناقد صفحات متتابعة من تاريخ حياته الوطنية والعاطفية والاجتماعية والفكرية والنفسية، لأن معرفة السنين التي نظم إبانها الشاعر قصائده، قد تجعل القارئ والناقد أقرب إلى الصواب والإنصاف حين يصوران رأيهما في شعره.
