هذا الذي بين يديك عزيزي القارئ ليس بحثاً إنتقادياً موجهاً لأحد وإنما هو يعرض هذا الكتاب الذي بين أيدينا لمسألة الإمامة – الخلافة- والنص على الإمام عليَ بن أبي طالب بالخلافة من قبل الرسول الأعظم صلى الله عليه وسلَم عن الله تعالى وآي الذكر الحكيم، الذي اقتبسه المؤلف من كتب، المؤرخين والمتتبعين والباحثين.
حيث أجمعت المصادر وجلَ الآراء صادرة عن المسلمين باختلاف نحلهم وغير المسلمين على عظمة هذه الشخصية وسيرته التي تطابقت وسيرة الرسول الأعظم صلى الله عليه وسلم. قسم المؤلف الكتاب إلى ستة أبواب وكل باب إلى مجموعة فصول ليسهل على المراجع تتبع مواضيع الكتاب.
فالباب الأول فيه تسعة فصول (الفلسفات المنحرفة وأبو طالب المؤمن الكاتم لإيمانه، وموقف رهبان النصارى من الإمام، ثم نسب الإمام وأين ولد وأنه الفدائي الأول لقائد الرسالة، ثم زواج الإمام ومن أمر بزواجه)
والباب الثاني يحتوي على ثلاثة وعشرين فصلاً: (الآيات التي لها صلة بخلافة الإمام وما قال عنها علماء الكلام والتفسير يتخللها الأحاديث النبوية الناصة على عليَ بالخلافة)
والباب الثالث يشتمل على أربعة عشر فصلاً:( بعث أسامة وعلاقته بخلافة الإمام ومن آثارها ثم السقيفة.
والباب الرابع يشتمل على ستَة فصول: الإمام علي عليه السلام والمجتمع والإناء.
أما الباب فيشتمل على ستة عشر فصلاً: (حروب الإمام)
الباب السادس ويشتمل على ستة فصول: حروب الإمام ثم ختم الباب بوصايا الإمام للأمة ومقتله).
