يجمع هذا الكتاب بين طياته أكبر قدر يمكن تحصيله حول نجمة من نجوم آل بيت النبي محمد صلى الله عليه وسلم وكوكبة من أنوار المعصومين رضي الله عنهم ألا وهي سيدة الشهداء (السيدة رقية بنت الإمام الحسين) التي أيتمت على صغر سنها وعايشت المآسي رغم نعومة أظفارها إلى أن فارقت الحياة الدنيا في الشام.
يستعرض الكاتب في متن كتابه هذه الكرامات الإلهية التي تلمسها الناس من هذه الطفلة الشريفة بعد مماتها، وكذلك إستعراض لقصتها الأليمة والتي يعتبرها المؤلف مشاركة في إيصال مظلومية الإمام الحسين وثورته الخالدة في عاشوراء على صغر سنها، منها هو قبرها اليوم شاهداً حياً يعود إلى أكثر من ثلاثمائة عام (أي قبل أربعة قرون ونصف من تأريخنا الحاضر).
يقول "عبد الوهاب بن أحمد الشافعي المصري" في كتاب "المتن": وأخبرني بعض الخواص أن مرقد رقية بنت الحسين رضي الله عنه في المشهد القريب من جامع دار الخليفة؛ وهو معروف الآن بجامع شجرة الدر... والمكان الذي فيه السيدة رقية عن يمينه ومكتوب على الحجر الذي ببابه: هذا البيت بقعة شرفت بآل النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم وبنت الحسين الشهيد، رقية رضي الله عنها.
يضم الكتاب إضافة إلى كرامات السيدة رقية مجموعة شعرية قبلت في السيدة رقية للصحابي الجليل سيف بن عميرة النخعي يقول فيها: "وسكينة عنها السكينة فارقت، لمّا ابتديت بفرقة وتغيّر، ورقية رقّ الحسود لضعفها، وغدا ليعذرها الذي لم يعذر، ولأم كلثوم يجد جديدها، لئم عقيب دموعها لم يكرر...".
