هذا كتابنا الاول في وحدة أبحاث السرديات، أردنا منه أن يطلع الباحثون والمهتمون بالسرد على الحالة الراهنة للدراسات السردية في العالم العربي من خلال كتابات عدد من الباحثين الذين لهم باع طويل في البحث السردي، وحضورهم الواضح في كثير من ملتقيات السرد، وإسهاماتهم الخاصة بتأليفاتهم التي اطلع عليها - لا شك - كثير من الدارسين، جمعناها هنا في سياق واحد، وهو تنوع مفيد يثري الرؤية السردية وينوع مداخل التعامل مع النصوص، كما أردنا منه كذلك أن نرى التشكيل السردي في آخر تجلياته من منظور هؤلاء الدارسين، وكذلك نرى المعنى السردي مثلما رأوا.
يطل عبد الله إبراهيم من العراق في بحثه "السردية العربية من التواصل إلى التفاعل" على المفاهيم الأساسية للسرد من خلال رؤية باحث عميق الإهتمام بموضوعه، وفي بحث صالح معيض الغامدي من السعودية يطرح الباحث سؤالاً عن كيفية التحقق أن كاتب السيرة الذاتية قد رأى - حقيقةً - حلماً أو عانى رؤيا أو جرب كرامة.
وكان بحث صالح زياد من السعودية بعنوان "اليهودي الحالي لعلي المقري: الرواية وتفكيك التعصب" وعلي المقري روائي يمني تقوم ثيمته الروائية على علاقة الذات بالآخر.
ويسعى بحث محمد رشيد ثابت من تونس إلى الإشتغال على خطاب رواية إبراهيم الكوني "في مكان نسكنه" في زمان يسكننا" (ط1. 2006) ملفوظاً وتلفظاً، لإستجلاء خصائص تشكله الإبداعي ورحلة الذات في إنشاء هذا التشكل.
بالإضافة إلى الكثير من الأبحاث الأخرى التي تصب في نفس الهدف وهو دراسة التشكل والمعنى في الخطاب السّردي.
