كانت أمّ الصّبيان جنيّة لطيفة، تستخدم قدراتها العجيبة لمساعدة المرضى في قريتها. اعتادت وباستمرار أن تلبس عباءة سوداء، وأن تضع على وجهها برقعًا ذهبيًّا مزخرفًا. في أحد الأيّام تضيّع أمّ الصّبيان طفليها. تغضب بشدّة؛ فتهبّ ريح قويّة ترفع البرقع عن وجهها ويكتشف الجميع أنّها جنيّة؛ فيخافون منها، ويطردونها من القرية. تختفي أمّ الصّبيان لتظهر بعد سنوات، وتساعد على علاج طفل يذكّرها بطفليها المفقودين.
