وَها هُوَ ذا اليَومَ يَفتَحُ باباً قَلَّما فَتَحَهُ المُشتَغِلونَ بِتاريخِ الأَندَلُس، فَيسعى إلى تَرميمِ كِتابِ "المُغرِب"، لأبي يَحيى، اليسَع الغافقي الجَيّانيّ، كَما يَسعى أَهلُ الآثارِ إلى تَرميمِها، وُهُوَ كِتابٌ نَفيس، ذَهَبَت بِهِ عَوادي الدِّهر، فَأَبى هُوَ إلاّ أَن يُغالِبَ هذا الدِّهر، فَجَعَلَ يَتَتَبَّعُ النُّقولَ مِنهُ في المَصادِر، تَتَبُّعَ الباحِثِ الحَريصِ الحَصيفِ في الآنِ نَفسِه، وَيَجتَهِدُ إجتِهاداً في تَبويئِها مَقاعِدَها، فَيَنَجَحُ في ذالِكَ نجَاحاً باهِراً لا يُنكِرُهُ إلاّ جاحِدٌ أو جاِهلِ.
وَإذا كِتابُ المُؤرِّخِ اليسَعِ الَّذي يُقَدَّمُه اليَومَ بَينَ أيدينا بَعدَ ما ضاع، كأنهُ هُو، وَإن لم يَكُن إيّاه، ثُمُ لا يَكتَفي بذالِك، فَيَجَعلُ هَجيراهُ أَن يَدرُسَهُ دَرسَ النّاقِدِ البَصير، وَأنَ يُفَهرِسَهُ اعتِناءً مِنهُ بِأمرِ القارئ، وَتسهيلاً لِلإِستفادَة، وَتَوفيراً لِلمَنفّعَة، وَإنَّكَ لَواجِدٌ في عَمَلِهِ هذا، وَاللهُ لا يُضيعُ أَجرَ مَن أحسَنَ عَملاً، صورَةٌ لِلكِتابِ الأصليّ، أقرَبَ ما تكونُ إلى أَصلِه، وَواجدٌ فيهِ ما تَصبو إلَيه نَفسُكَ مِن تَوَسُّعِ في الإِطَّلاعِ عَلى الأَنَدلُسِ وَتاريخِها، وَمِرآةً لِمَجهودٍ يُقدِّرُ قَدرَهُ العارِفون، وَجَنى دانِياً يَستَمتِعُ بِهِ المُستَمتِعون، ويَنتَفِعُ به المُنتَفِعون.
فَليَهنَأ بِهذا العَمَلِ اليسَعُ بنُ حَزم، إذ وَجَدَ في زَمانِنا هذا الّذي انتُقِصَ فيهِ العِلَمُ مِن أَطرافِهِ وَكيلاً عَنهُ "مِن مَحَاسِنِ المَغربِ" وَأَهلِ المَغرِب، كَأَحسَنِ ما يَكونُ الوُكَلاء، يَعتَني بِكتِابِهِ فُيُحسِنُ الإعتِناء، وَليَهنَأ بِهِ تاريخُ الأَندَلُس، فَقد فَتحَ بِهِ أبواباً كانَت موصَدَة، وَنَوافِذّ ما كانَ لِيَفتَحَها إلاّ أولو العَزم؛ وَاللهُ المُوَفِّقُ لِلصِّواب.
