Le Cheikh Blanc es tune histoire véridique dont les faits se sont déroulés au début du dix-neuvième siècle.
Pour la rédiger, je ne me suis pas contenté de consulter les documents et les livres en ma possession. Je me suis rendu à la ville de Salem aux États- Unis d’Amérique.
J’ai visité les vieux bâtiments dans la partie encore existante de l’ancienne ville, celle de johannes Poll. J’ai aussi visité le musée de Peabody ainsi que l’Institut d’Essex à Salem.
En Orient, j’ai effectué des recherches pour retrouver les traces de descendants de Johannes Poll à Dhofar. J’ai retrouvé Sayyid Abdulkhaleq bin Salmin bin Rabi, le fils de Harir, une dame très connue à Dhofar, qui est la fille d’Abdallah bin Mohammed, Johannes Poll et de Brikun, la femme qu’Abdallah épousa à la fin de sa vie.
