كثيراً من الشباب المسلمين المقبلين على الزواج تراودهم تساؤلات واستفسارات عن ليلة الزفاف محاولين معرفة ما هو بهم من الأعمال والسنن والآداب المتبعة في الليلة هذه ضمن حدود الشريعة الإسلامية، والتي وصل بعضها إلينا بصورة مباشرة وغير مباشرة، نورد منها على شكل تساؤلات: ما أفضل الليالي والأيام لاختيار ليلة الزفاف؟ ما الآداب المتبعة لإحياء هذه الليلة؟ كيف يكون موكب الزفاف، وهيئة الاحتفاء به بما يتماشى وروح الشريعة الإسلامية؟هل توجد أعمال عبادية روحية للعريسين في هذه الليلة وكيف ومتى تؤدى؟ هل تطرقت الشريعة الإسلامية إلى القضايا الجنسية؟ وما سبل معالجتها وما هي أفضل الطرق لإتمام هذه الليلة وتجاوز حالات الخوف والألم..؟ هل هنالك صورة للزواج الإسلامي في عصر الرسول صلى الله عليه وسلم؟
فضلاً عن غيرها من التساؤلات والاستفسارات التي حملها هذا البحث محاولاً الرد عليها وذلك بعد قراءة المصادر الفقهية الأخلاقية إضافة للمصادر الطبية العلمية لإتمام الفائدة وجعل الموضوع أكثر وضوحاً وشمولاً.
ولأن ليلة الزفاف هي البداية للحياة الزوجية المستمرة بمشيئة الله تعالى فلا بد من تقرير وصايا تذكر العريسين في أول محطة لمشوارهما في طريق الحياة، لتزيح العقبات وتبدد الظلمة التي قد تخيم على ليلتهما ولكي تدوم رابطة المودة والتراحم ولتكون الحياة مستقرة هانئة، لهذا كله فقد اختار المؤلف بعض الوصايا التي تبصر وتذكر.
ولكي تكون صورة الزواج واضحة شاملة للقارئ في جميع سننها وأعمالها وآدابها، اخترنا الزواج المثالي في الإسلام، والذي كان برعاية الرسول الكريم صلى الله عليه وسلم من بدايته حتى اجتماع العروسين في دارهما، ولما يحويه من مثل عالية، وقيم روحية فاضلة، وأخلاق نبيلة سامية، إنه اقتران النورين أمير المؤمنين علي بن أبي طالب وفاطمة الزهراء رضي الله عنهما.
