هذا الكتاب رحلةٌ في فضاءات التجديد في العصر الجديد لكنها فضاءات مهندسة في زمن أصبح المتغير الثابت فيه هو التغيير يسعى بين يدي النظام التربوي في أن يكون التجديد ليس إجراءات تجميلية تترك البنى الأساسية كما كانت عليه، وليس ترقيعاً لثوب النظم السارية لكي تعمل بصورة أفضل، وإنما يعني ان يكون التجديد صورة مدركة وواقعاً ملموساً وفق صيرورة وتشكيل ممنهج ومدروس.

فهل هي "الميتافيزيقياء" تطل علينا برأسها من جديد، وقد استدرجتها إلى الساحة الفلسفية هذه المرة توابع الوجود الرمزي في فضاء الإنترنت وتكنولوجيا الواقع الخائلي (Virtual Reality)، وهي التكنولوجيا التي أمكن من خلالها صنع عوالم وهمية يقيمها الكمبيوتر بإستخدام أساليب المحاكاة الرقمية، عوالم يجوبها الإنسان متحرراً من قيود جسده وعقله وواقعه، فأسئلة الوجود الكبرى تطرح نفسها من جديد".
وجاء هذا الكتاب في مقدمة وثلاثة فصول الأوّل منها يقف على مفاهيم التجديد وجدليات تلك المفاهيم والمصادر والأهداف، والثاني منها يقف على ممارسة التفكير في التجديد على المستوى الفلسفي ومستوى النظرية والأنموذج مغتنماً الإلتقاءات النظرية في مجال علم النفس والإدارة وعلم الإجتماع حول قضايا التجديد، أمّا الفصل الثالث فيعنى في الإطلاع على الأدب التربوي العالمي والعربي في ميدان التجديد التربوي وإجراء التحليل والمقارنات.
