Book Description
مؤلف هذا الكتاب هو الإمام المؤرخ الفقهي عبد الحي بن أحمد بن محمد العكرى، أبو الفلاح الدمشقي الصالحي الحنبلي، ابن العماد. ولد ابن العماد في الصالحية بدمشق يوم الأربعاء الثامن من رجب سنة اثنتين وثلاثين وألف، ونشأ بدمشق وطلب العلم، فأخذ عن أعلام الشيوخ مثل الشيخ أيوب ابن أحمد بن أيوب القرشي الماتريدي الحنفي الخلوتي المتوفي سنة 1071هـ، وكذلك أخذ الفقه عن الشيخ عبد الباقي بن عبد الباقي بن عبد القادر البعلى الأزهري الدمشقي مفتي الحنابلة في الشام في عصره.
رحل ابن العماد إلى القاهرة فأقام بها. ولما عاد إلى دمشق قام بالتدريس وتتلمذ عليه النجباء منهم الشيخ محمد فضل الله بن محب الله المحبي الحموي الدمشقي المتوفي سنة 1111هـ. ومن مؤلفاته التي ذكرتها لنا المصادر: 1-شذرات الذهب في أخبار من ذهب، وهو كتابنا هذا، 2-نزهة العماد على تفسير العلامة البيضاوي لسورة يس. 3-بغية أولى النهي في شرح المنتهى.
وشذرات الذهب في أخبار من ذهب، وهو هذا الكتاب الذي بين أدينا والذي يعد من أهم وأشمل كتب التاريخ، حيث يؤرخ فيه مؤلفه لألف سنة كاملة، مبتدأ بالسنة الأولى للهجرة، فالثانية وهكذا، مبينا في كل سنة أهم أحداثها، منبها إلى من توفي في هذه السنة من الأعلام والمحدثين منهم خاصة مع ذكر طرف من ترجمته، بحيث يكون ذلك تذكرة وعبرة لمتتبع الأحداث التاريخية، وحافزا للقارىء بالسير في ركب العظماء، وعونا للوقوف على حال رواة الأحاديث وقد خفف عن القارىء الرجوع إلى الكتب الكثيرة حيث اعتمد كتب الحافظ الذهبي، ومن ثم المقدسي صاحب " الكمال "، والأصفهاني صاحب " الحيلة " وابن خلكان صاحب"الوفيات"، وغيرهم وقد خرج المحقق الأحداث السنوية الواردة في بداية كل سنة، من المراجع الأصيلة وخرج الأحاديث التي وردت في بعض السنوات الأولى من الكتاب وكذلك خرج الآيات القرآنية، ونسب الأبيات إلى قائليها وقدم للكتاب بمقدمة مبسطة، وزود الكتاب بمجلد للفهارس العلمية.
