-بعد علم أصول الفقه من أجلَ العلوم قدراً وأدقها سراً، إذ هو السلم الذي به تستخرج الأحكام الشرعية من أدلتها النقلية والعقلية، فلا يمكن إستنباط الأحكام من الكتاب والسنة إلا به، إذ به يعرف النص منهما والظاهر والمؤول والمنطوق والمفهوم، الموافق والمخالف، والإقتضاء والإشارة والإيماء.
وكتاب " إيصال السالك في أصول الإمام مالك" يعتبر لبنة شيدها العلامة محمد يحيى الولاتي ليزين بها صرح علو الأصول الفقه، إذ شرح فيه منظومة إبن أبي كف في الأصول المعتمدة لدى إمام دار الهجرة. فقد بدع فيه الناظم وسطع فيه نجم الشارح فجعلاه زاداً للمبتدئ يفتح له آفاق علم الأصول وأداة للمنتهي تحصر له أمهات المسائل والأسوس.
2- عزت الآيات القرآنية الكريمة إلى مواضعها من السور في القرآن الكريم. خرَج الأحاديث الشريفة من مظانّها، عمل على عزو الأقوال إلى أصحابها، ترجم الإعلام، شرح بعض المفردات وعلَق بعض التعليقات.
