كتاب يبحث في التاريخ الإسلامي متخصص بالسيرة النبوية المطهرة عرض فيه لحالة العرب قبل الإسلام، وولادة رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم وشمائله وصفاته وأخلاقه عليه الصلاة والسلام وإسلام بعض الأصحاب رضوان الله عليهم وإسرائه ومعراجه وهجرته ومعجزاته وغير ذلك من الأمور التي تتعلق بالنبي صلى الله عليه وسلم وهو كتاب شمائل وأخلاق أكثر منه كتاب تأريخ إذ لم يذكر فيه معارك رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم وغزواته . ومجمل الأخبار التي أوردها المصنف جاءت مسندة إلى النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم أو أصحابه الذين شاهدوا أفعاله وعلى الكتاب هوامش وتعليقات هامة، وبعض المقالات النفيسة لكبار علماء هذا القرن والقرن الذي سبقه كالكوثري والشيخ عبد الحليم محمود شيخ الأزهر وغيرهم.
