إن كاتب هذه المذكرات هو أحد العمال الشباب، وقع في الأسر في مستهل نشاطه الثوري في المنظمة الفدائية، لعدم مراعاته بعض المبادئ والأصول الثورية لكنه وقف بوجه العدو بمعنوية ثورية كأي بروليتاري صادق وبوعي يجدر بالأنصار، وقاوم بثبات ورباطة جأش شتى صنوف التعذيب التي تعرض لها على يد منظمة الأمن الإيرانية.
لقد كان الحس الطبقي الذاتي وجوهر السلطة المعادي للعمال الذي رآه هذا الرفيق بأم عينه ولمسه بكل حواسه خلال حياته اليومية كبروليتاري، العامل الأساسي الذي دفعه إلى اللحاق بركب النضال المسلح الذي رفعت لواءه منظمته الثورية، وكان تقززه كلما تصور الخيانة لرفاقه والاستسلام للعدة ويقاسى من ألم نفسي أشد وأقسى بعشرات المرات من آلام التعذيب الجسدي الذي يمارسه العدو ضد المناضلين، ولقد عمل بدقة ووعي خلال عمليات الاستجواب الطويلة والمجابهة مع المحققين للتعرف الدقيق على شحصيات هؤلاء وسير أغوار مشاعرهم ونفسياتهم واكتشاف نقاط الضعف فيهم وفي أساليبهم، ولحسن الحظ لم تكن جزئيات نشاطه الثوري وعلاقاته داخل المنظمة الفدائية معروفة لدى العدو لذا فإنه لعب دور إنسان ساذج بسيط، بحيث قدر على أغوار مأموري الساواك، فتصوروا أنه ليس سوى ما يظهر لهم، لذا خفت رغبتهم في الاستمرار بتعذيبه. وهكذا ظل وفياً للعهد الذي قطعه على نفسه أمام شعبه ورفاقه.
في هذه المذكرات يسلط "يوسف زكار" الضوء على خصائص ونفسيات مأموري العدو ويعكس الوجه الحقيقي لهؤلاء المرتزقة، ويبين نقاطاً حساسة ودقيقة في المجابهة مع العدو قد يؤثر إهمال أحدها على مصير المناضل الأسير، وفي اعتقادنا فإن هذه السطور تساهم في تسليط الضوء على واقع العدو، وأساليب ونفسيات أفراده وإظهار وجهة الحقيقي بشكل واضح وجلي لكثير من المناضلين الذين لم يخبروا بعد، دروب النضال المختلفة ليستطيعوا من خلال التعرف عليه كسب الاستعداد الكامل لمجابهة أساليبه واحتلال المواقع الصحيحة في النضال وتعريف الرفاق الآخرين به.
