هذه شعبة من شعب الإيمان موسومة بمقاربة وموادة المؤمنين, تضمنت: حكم السلام ورده والاستئذان, والمكافأة على الصنائع, والمهاداة بين الناس, والحب في الله. قال تعالى: (وإذا حييتم بتحية فحيوا بأحسن منها أو ردوها إن الله كان على كل شيءٍ حسيباً). إن ابتداء السلام سنة ورده واجب, فإن كان المسلم جماعة فهو سنة كفاية في حقهم, إذا سلم بعضهم حصلت سنة السلام في حق جميعهم, فإن كان المسلم عليه واحداً تعين عليه الرد, وإن كانوا جماعة كان الرد فرض كفاية في حقهم, فإذا رد واحد منهم سقط الحرج عن الباقين, والأفضل أن يبتدىء الجميع بالسلام وأن يرد الجميع, وقد نقل إجماع المسلمين على أن ابتداء السلام سنة وأن رده فرض.
