إن ترجمة سيرة الأعلام والتعريف بمواقع سكناهم في القرآن الكريم تعد من أشرف وأعظم الأعمال لخدمة الدين الحنيف.
أما معرفة المواقع في القرآن الكريم فهي كذلك من أعظم الأعمال حيث أن من هذه المواقع ما هو تعبدي مثل الكعبة المشرفة والمسجد النبوي الشريف والمسجد الأقصى ومنها ما هو بالمواقع الجهادية مثل بدر وحنين ومنها ما هو من مواقع الحروب عبر العصور ومنها ما هي مواقع الخطاب عليها بين الله عزّ وجلّ وبين الأنبياء مثل البقعة المبارك أو جبل الطور ومكة والمدينة المنورة حسبما حدد المفسرين ذلك مفصلاً.
وهذا الكتاب يقدم ترجمة الأعلام والمواقع في القرآن الكريم حيث اتجه إلى كثير من المصادر وراجع المراجع وكتب الحديث والفقه واللغة، للوقوف على حقيقة الأعلام وتحديد المواقع بشكل علمي سليم وموثق.
وقد اقتضت خطة البحث في هذه الأطروحة أن تكون من مقدمة وتمهيد وثلاثة فصول: الفصل الأول: أسماء الأعلام المصرح بهم في القرآن الكريم، الفصل الثاني: أسماء الأعلام المكنى بهم من غير تصريح في القرآن الكريم، الفصل الثالث: أسماء المواقع المصرح بها وغير المصرح بها في القرآن الكريم.
