"صحيح الترمذي هو كتاب حديث وفقه، وهو من الصحاح، بوّبه الإمام الترمذي تبعاً لأبواب الفقه ومسائله. وقد عمد الترمذي فيه إلى إسناد كل حديث إلى رواته مبيناً صحته ومعدداً طرقه، ومنتقداً رجاله (جرحاً وتعديلاً) وشارحاً موضع القطع والوصل في سلسلة رواته، وموضحاً المعمول من ذاك الحديث والمتروك منه، مبرزاً اختلاف العلماء في الرد والقبول لآثاره مع ذكر اختلافهم في تأويله. وقد انبرى علماء المسلمين إلى تناوله بالشرح والإيضاح، والإمام الحافظ ابن العربي المالكي واحد من العلماء الذين تناولنا صحيح الترمذي بالشرح، حيث يقول بأنه أورد في شرحه هذا قولاً في الإسناد والرجال والغريب، بالإضافة إلى إغناء هذا الشرح بالكثير من المسائل النحوية، وبالمهم بما جاء في علم التوحيد ولما جاء في مجال الأحكام والآداب بالإضافة إلى ذلك ضمن ابن العربي المالكي شرحه نكتاً من الحكم وإشارات إلى المصالح. لذا جاء الشرح مفيداً ومهماً لا يقلّ في ذلك عن الكتاب نفسه "صحيح الترمذي" ففيه يجد كل من الباحث والفقيه والنحوي والطالب والقارئ غايته ومبتغاه.
وما يميز هذه الطبعة من الكتاب أنها جاءت محتوية بالإضافة إلى متن الترمذي المشكل تشكيلاً تاماً في أعلى الصفحات، على الشرح الذي جاء على المتن هذا بالإضافة على بعض الحواشي المهمة. كما واحتوت هذه الطبعة من الكتاب على تحقيق لطيف هدفه توضيح ما أبهم من عبارات المتن والشرح وما أشكل كما واهتم المحقق بتذييل المتن بمجلد خاص بالفهارس العلمية.
