"على الأرض تجلس تلك الأميرة بفيء صنوبرة في الظهيرة، أكاد أخال عيوني جنوداً كفرسان طاولة مستديرة، فتحرس خداً تورد خمراً ووجهاً يزيد لقلب الوتيرة، وثغراً، إذا نطق الحرف، خرت له الكلمات عجزاً وحيرة، ظننت عيوني جنوداً، ولكن تراها بسجن الجمال أسيرة، جمال أميري هذا الجمال ترى، أم جمال فتاة عشيرة؟ وأياً يكن، فالكلام الجميل يقال، ولو لثوان قصيرة ليطفأ شوقاً، ويطرب أذناً ويبهج بالوصف عينا بصيرة، وماذا أقول بشعري بعد وفي ثوبها الهطر حاكى العبير فيكفي بهذا المديح دليلاً على سحر تلك الفتاة الصغيرة".
"هي" خمس أعوام من وصف جمال الفتاة اللبنانية و جاذبيتها، يتضمن الكتاب خمسين قصيدة تنقسم لأربع محاور: "أميرة الصنوبر" – "هبة " – "ريم " تروي كل من تلك المحاور علاقة امتزجت بين الصداقة و الحب حيث تتوالى القصائد مع توالي الأحداث. أما محور "هي" فيتضمن قصائدا لعشرين صديقة كان الإلهام الدافع لكتابتها. القصائد تعتمد نهج المدرسة الشعرية القديمة، على صعيد القافية والوزن متقيدة بالبحور العروضية.
