في كل شعرية سعيد ضاهر حب للوطن وإنسانية عالية، بعيدة في جذورها الروحية، وبراءة رؤياها، إن الشاعر هنا في (لوحة شرق) لا يضفي على موضوعاته أي طابع إيديولوجي، ولكنه في الوقت نفسه يتحسس هموم الناس، داخل حدود وطنه وخارجه، يحاول بالكتابة إنقاذ العالم من الشرور، فيمارس طقوسه على مذبح القصيدة (العامية)، فيكتب قصائد باللهجة المحكية منطلقاً من ذاته في توحد جمعي مع المتلقين، مشاركاً إياهم وحدة الذات والوجع والطفولة والأحلام.
تحت عنوان "إلى أطفال غزة" يقول الشاعر ضاهر: "على سُور المدينة... تحوْكموا كلن... حطوا الإيد بإيدْ... وتكاتفوا... يمحوا شعبْ غزة... دمعة طفل... مش خايفة منهن.. من نارهن... مش خايفة... رصاصهن... مش هم... إنو تيتم بظلن... دمعة خَجل... من نومتن... أو من صغر... عقلن... شو قصتك يا عيدْ...".
قدم للمجموعة بكلمة الأمين العام لإتحاد الكتّاب اللبنانيين د. وجيه فانوس، ومما جاء فيها: "... يُخيل إليَّ أن ضاهر، وقبل أن يفكر في أن ينظم الشعر، فإنه بكلماته التي ينظم بها القصيدة، رسامٌ أنيق القلم، عفوي الخطوط، جميل الإحساس، صادق التعبير وهو، في رسمه هذا، لا يبغي الرسم، بل يبحث عن ذلك المزيد من الوجوه في القصيدة...".
في ضوء ما سبق قسم الشاعر سعيد ضاهر مجموعته إلى خمسة عناوين رئيسة هي: 1-وطنيات، 2-وجدانيات، 3-غزل، 4-صباحيات، 4-تحية إلى أرواح أعزاء.
