إن "القرآن الكريم" كتاب الدعوة الإسلامية، وقد شاءت حكمة الله تعالى أن جاء هذا القرآن الكريم مكوَّناً من سور، وكل سورة تشتمل على آيات لعرض الموضوعات المتناولة في هذه السورة، وقد جاءت كلُّ سورة من سور القرآن الكريم مسمّاةً باسم معيَّن ليميّزها عن الأخرى، وفي غالب الأمر يكون هذا الإسم فيه إشارةٌ إلى أحد الموضوعات البارزة في السورة.
من هنا كانت فكرة هذا الكتاب الذي كان بالأصل رسالة جامعية قُدِّمت لنيل درجة الدكتوراه في الجامعة الأردنية عام: (2015م، الموافق لعام: (2015م، الموافق لعام: 1436هـ)، وقد كانت بعنوان: "العلاقة بين اسم السورة القرآنية وموضوعاتها، دراسة تحليلية تطبيقية"، ثم لمَّا أردت إصدارها ككتاب حوَّلت العنوان إلى: "دلالة أسماء السور القرآنية على محاورها وموضوعاتها"، فالكتاب يهدف إلى تحليل أوجه العلاقات بين اسم السورة القرآنية ومحورها وموضوعاتها، من خلال التطبيق العملي على سور القرآن الكريم، وإثبات أن أسماء سور القرآن الكريم توقيفية من الله عزّ وجلّ، وليست إجتهادية من الرسول صلى الله عليه وسلم أو الصحابة، من خلال بيان أن اسم السورة التوفيقي كان هو الأجدر والقمين بالسورة، هذا، وقد اعتمدت في هذا الكتاب منهجاً مطّرداً للكتابة.
