تختلف المنظمة العقائدية عن سواها في أنها ترتكز إلى ثلاث دعائم أساسية هي الالتزام بعقيدة واضحة تنطلق منها لتحقيق غاية معينة وفق نظام أخلاقي صارم. إن قيادة مثل هذه الحركات وإيصالها إلى انتصار غايتها عملية معقدة تحتاج إلى إطار سليم لإدارة استراتيجيتها، وإلى قيادة حكيمة ومحنكة تحسن استخدام هذا الإطار.
غالباً ما تصطدم هذه المنظمات بواقع يدفعها إلى التخلي عن واحد أو أكثر من هذه الأسس فتتهدد وحدتها الداخلية وتتعرض للتصدع. ما ينقذها في مثل هذه الحالات هو متانة أساسها الاستراتيجي، ومرونة إطار إدارتها، وحكمة أعضائها قيادة ومنتسبين.
سنة 1932 أسس أنطون سعادة الحزب السوري القومي الاجتماعي في بيروت، وفق غاية واضحة، جعل من تحقيقها مهمة أساسية أولى لأعضاء حزبه إن فشلوا فيها زالت عقيدتهم من الوجود وتبدد أتباعها.
سبع وسبعون سنة مرت على تأسيس الحزب السوري القومي الاجتماعي وهو ما يزال بعيداً جداً عن تحقيق غايته وفق أي مقياس موضوعي. لماذا؟ هل كانت عقيدته خاطئة؟ هل كانت خطته الأساسية قاصرة؟ هل كانت واهمة؟ هل لم يحسن تطبيقها؟ أم لعلها أهملت!
يحاول هذا الكتاب الإجابة عن هذه الأسئلة عل في ذلك إفادة للحزب السوري القومي الاجتماعي وسواه من المنظمات العقائدية في الوطن السوري والعالم العربي.
