تُعدًّ اللُّغة العربيَّة من بَيْنِ اللَّغاتِ السْتْ المعتمدة في الأُمم المتّحدة على أنَّها لغةً عالميَّةً أسهمتْ أيما إسهامٍ في مسيرة الحضارة البشريَّة، ولها ميزاتُ تتحلَّى بها، وقد أشَادَ بهذه الميزات والخصائص بعض من أبنائها، ومِنْ غير أبنائها في الوقتِ نفسه، قال ابن جني (ت 392هـ) في كتابه الجهير "الخصائص": "إذا تأملتُ حال هذه اللغة الشريفة الكريمة اللطيفة وجدتُ فيها من الحكمةِ والدقةِ والإرهافِ والرقّةِ ما يملك عليَّ جانب الفِكْرِ".
