هذا الكتاب لعَلَمٍ من أبرز أعلام الطب عند العرب، لأبي بكر الرازي. الطبيب العربي الذي كان من أهم وأوائل من أبدعوا وألَّفوا وصنَّفوا في الطب العربي، ودرَّسوا هذا العلم الجليل. وهو واحد ممن كتبوا باللغة العربية في مرحلة الإبداع الإسلامي في جميع العلوم، وذلك في أوج الخلافة العباسية، في فترةٍ امتازت بالنقل والترجمة عن الحضارات الأخرى؛ كالفارسية، والإغريقية، والقبطية وغيرها، وهو من الذين بقوا محافظين على الأصالة والأصيل.
ألف الرازي هذا الكتاب لمعالجة الأمراض كلها بالأغذية، أو دسّ الأدوية التي لا غنى عنها في الأغذية؛ ليخفى طعمها، ثم أعاد ذكر الأمراض وما يفيدها وما يضرها من الأغذية. وهذا الجمع النادر قلَّ أن نراه بين المؤلفات في عصرنا الحالي؛ علاوةً على أنه يصلح لكل زمانٍ ومكانٍ مهما تطورت العلوم الطبية فيه.
ونحب في هذه العجالة أن نشير إلى نقطتين مهمتين: أولاهما: أن الطب الحديث بالرغم من بلوغه الشأو القصي في الإتقان إلا أنه لم يتقدم على علم السابقين إلا في ميدان العمليات الجراحية. أما في أصل الأدوية ووصف الأعراض المرضية.. فالأمر بين الماضي والحاضر سيان، وهذا ما دفع بعض المستشفيات إلى احتضان الطرق القديمة بأدويتها وأغذيتها وأساليبها، وهو ما أطلقوا عليه اسم الطب البديل، وكل منصف عاقل يعلم بحق أنه هو الطب الأصيل. ثانيهما: أن الأئمة الفقهاء كان لهم نظرة مهمة تجاه هذا العلم، وهناك كلمة مشهورة على ألسنتهم بأن العلم نوعان: علم الأديان، وعلم الأبدان.
ودار لامنهاج تنشر هذا الكتاب للباحثين وطلاب العلم الجادين إتماماً للفائدة.
