كتاب في علم الحديث الشريف، وهو نقد لكتاب " المغني عن الحفظ والكتاب ..." لصاحبه ابن قدامة. فقد قام فيه بمراجعة كل باب من أبواب كتب السنة ويخرج منها ما لم يصح عنده في ذاك الباب ولكن الشيخ أبو إسحاق الجويني وضع كتابه فصل الخطاب ليبين لنا كثيرا مما أخطأ به ابن قدامة في إثباته أو نفيه فقد تعرض لأحاديث في البخاري وغيره من الكتب المعتمدة مع أن الحديث قد يصح عند إمام ولا يصح عند آخر لإختلاف السند، ويختلف الحكم على الحديث بإختلاف الحكم على رجاله . وأيضا إن الإحاطة بالسنة كلها أمر محال، وهو أمر يصعب على كبار الحفاظ كأحمد وغيره، فكيف بابن قدامة ؟ فجاء الكتاب رسالة علمية جيدة ودليلا على النقد البناء الذي يهدف إلى الإصلاح.
