وهذا الكتاب يستعرض الوقائع التاريخية والأسماء، كل الأساليب التي استعملها الطامعون بآثار مثر لتهريب كنوزها إلى بلادهم، لنتعرف على الأسباب والدوافع ولاستخلاص العبر والدروس، والهدف من هذه الدراسة هي الكشف للعالم عن الدور الرئيسي الذي لعبته الحضارة المصرية وكذلك عن الطمع الذي تجلى في سرقة هذه الآثار العظيمة لإثراء المتاحف والمجموعات الخاصة بأعظم الآثار القديمة التي تشهد عن أصول الحضارة المصرية وعراقتها.
