تحمل قصائد الشاعر حمد الفقيه في "وجدنا كل شيء قد وصل قبلنا" بُعداً فلسفياً مبطناً، فما هو موجود من قبلنا يكون موجوداً الآن، وما يكون إتحاداً هنا فإنه تلاشٍ في الضفة الأخرى من الحياة.
والطبيعة تحمل جمال الوجود كله، فهي غير متكلفة، وموهوبة لنا دون شروط، او قيود، لم تكن بحاجة إلى إنسان يدمرها، لذلك كله يفتتح الشاعر مجموعته بــ "لم يكن هذا العالم يحتاج إلى إضافة".
"وجدنا كل شيءٍ قد وصلَ قبلنا... الأشجار... الليالي المقمرة... أصوات الضفادع... وريش طائرٍ على الأرض... الذبابة التي أنف وعل... قطيع الأفيال العائدِ من موسم... التزاوج... الفراشة الزرقاء على... قميصِ صديقنا المصوّر... لم يكن هذا العالم يحتاج إلى إضافةٍ... لم يكن يحتاج إلى إنسان... لم تكن الطبيعة بحاجة إلى برابرةٍ... ولا صيادين... ولا منتجي أفلام... يطاردون الحيتان والدلافين...".
وبهذا المعنى يبدو الإنسان والطبيعة لبنة أساسية في تشكيل النص، وكأن الشاعر يضفي للطبيعة، يحاورها، ويكتبها كتعبير عن الخلاص ولتساعده على رفض العالم المادي الزائف من خلال اللجوء إليها بوصفها المصدر النقي الصالح للعيش في الحياة... "الإشجار تحب من يتحدث وهو ينظرُ... إليها كأيّ إمرأةٍ جميلة!... في حديقتي أشجار السّرو الأربع... أحملْ قهوتي وأخرج إليها... وأقول ما أريد...".
يضم الكتاب قصائد نثرية جاءت تحت العناوين الآتية: "لم يكن هذا العالم يحتاجُ إلى إضافة"... "أعرف مما يخاف الناس عادةً"... "في أحسن الأحوال"... "أن اكتب عن شخص يشبهني"... "هل يجب أن أشعر بالخجل"... "لكن هذا هو كل شيء"... وعناوين أخرى.
