"جامع الترمذي" أو "سنن الترمذي" هو أحد الكتب الصحاح الستة، "وتحفة الأحوذي" للعلامة الشيخ محمد عبد الرحمن المباركفوري هو من أيسر شروح جامع الترمذي عبارة، وأوسعها شرعاً، وأجمعها فائدة، ومن أكملها تأليفاً.
وقد ألّفها العالم الجليل المباركفوري الذي تجلّت مكانته العلمية في ثناء العلماء عليه، وكثرة تصانيفه المفيدة، وتلامذته الذين أثروا المكتبة الإسلامية بالكثير من التصانيف البديعة، وسعياً في نشر فضائله، وشرح مآثره.
درس المؤلف كتابه هذا، وبيّن منهج مصنفه فيه ليكون موضوع بحثه في مرحلة الماجستير، وقد عمل على إظهار محاسنه والإشارة إلى بعض ما وقع فيه من أوهام أو أخطاء، وفي آخر الكتاب ضم المؤلف نصوص وثائقية حول المباركفوري، وفيها: إجازاته للشيخ محمد بن إبراهيم آل الشيخ.
