"مع أنَّنا اختبرنا الولادة الثَّانية، فنحن لم نَسبُر غَور اتِّحادنا بالمسيح كما هو حَرِيٌّ بنا في ضَوء الآية الكتابيَّة التي تقول: ""المَسِيحُ فِيكُم رَجَاءُ المَجدِ"" (كولوسي ١: ٢٧ب)، مع ما يُرافقها مِن تأكيدٍ بأنَّنا نحن أيضًا ""في المسيح"". لذلك، إذا كان هناك شخصٌ في المسيح فهو خَليقة جديدة (٢كورنثوس ٥: ١٧أ). وهذه هي الحياة ""الأفضل"" أو ""الفَيَّاضة"" التي وَعَدنا بها رَبُّنا ومُخَلِّصُنا يسوع المسيح في يوحنَّا ١٠: ١٠.
ومِن خلال التَّكرار المُفيد في هذا الكتاب لحقيقة أنَّنا صُلِبنا ودُفِنَّا وقُمنا مع المسيح، نَجَح ""ديڤيد كيكندال"" في وَصف كيف أنَّ هذه الحقيقة هي حقيقة عمليَّة في حياتنا المسيحيَّة وقائمة على أساسٍ كتابيٍّ سليمٍ، وعلى الميراث الثَّمين لكل مؤمنٍ حقيقيٍّ, يُريد أن يَنمو في النِّعمة وفي مَعرفة ربِّنا ومُخَلِّصنا يسوع المسيح. وقد اتَّسَم أسلوب ""ديڤيد"" بالسُّهولة من دون الإخلال بالعُمق وبالعُمق من دون الإخلال بالسُّهولة، في آنٍ واحد.
وعندما يَتَحَقَّق اتِّحادُنا بالمسيح على المستوى الشخصيِّ مِن خلال الإيمان والاختيار الفرديِّ بمُتقضى النِّعمة، نَحظى بعلاقةٍ ""عَموديَّةٍ"" رائعةٍ مع الله. وهذا بِدَوره سيَجعل علاقتنا ""الأفقيَّة"" مع المؤمنين الآخرين واقعًا مُفرِحًا، وسيَجعل شَهادتنا لغير المؤمنين تجربةً مُثمرةً."
