في كتابه "القول الصائب في إثبات الرّبائب" يرد السيد جعفر مرتضى العاملي على النقد الموجه له لما ورد في كتاب "بنات النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم أم ربائبه؟ وكتاب آخر بعنوان "فاطمة الزهراء دراسة في محاضرات" وفيه تعرض المؤلف إلى حياة الزهراء عليها السلام بعد وفاة أبيها رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم، وما قاله علماء الأمة عن تلك الفترة من حياتها عليها السلام. أما عن كتابه "بنات النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم أم ربائبه" فيورد رأي النقاد أولاً في "كونه مخالفاً لصريح القرآن الكريم في قوله تعالى "يا أيها النبي قل لأزواجك وبناتك ونساء المؤمنين" إلى آخر الآية. ثم يوضح رأيه قائلاً: "فإننا قد بيّنا في ذلك الكتاب: أن الإستدلال بآية سورة الأحزاب "يا أيها النبي قل لأزواجك وبناتك" لا يمكن أن يصح .. لأن الله حين يخاطب نبيه، فإنما يخاطبه ... على طريقة إعطاء القاعدة العامة في غالب الأحيان، فقد قال الله تعالى لنبيه صلى الله عليه وسلم "لئن أشركت ليحبطن عملك" مع أن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم، لا يمكن أن يميل إلى الشرك.." وهكذا يقيم المؤلف الدلائل والبراهين على أنه "لم يكن للنبي صلى الله عليه وسلم بنات غير الزهراء عليها السلام، فإننا نعلم أن المراد بقوله: "وبناتك" هو خصوص الزهراء عليها السلام ... " وبهذا المعنى يفرق بين معنى البنت ومعنى الربيبة أو الربائب الذين عاشوا في كنف خديجة والرسول صلى الله عليه وسلم ... والله .. ورسوله أعلم.
