بين عامي 1994 و2000، عمل عمر الناصري عميلاً سرياً لدى أكبر أجهزة الاستخبارات السرية في أوروبا. لدى جهاز الاستخبارات السري البريطاني (الإس آي إس SIS)، المعروف أكثر باسم الإم آي 6 (M16) لدى جهاز الأمن (الإم آي MI5،5)، لدى جهاز الاستخبارات الخارجية الفرنسي (الدي جي إس إي DGSE) بفرنسا، ولدى البي في آي (BVE) (البدوندسماتس فور فيرفاسونغسشوتز) في ألمانيا. من الخلايات الإسلامية في بلجيكا، الى المدارس في الباكستان، الى معسكرات التدريب الإرهابية بأفغانستان و"لندنستان"، ظل الناصري يخاطر بحياته لمجابهة الشبكة الكوكبية الناشئة التي ستغدو معروفة في الغرب باسم القاعدة.

يروي الكتاب قصة جهاد، قصة آثرة وبالغة الإثارة للحياة الداخلية في شبكات الإرهاب الإسلامية من جهة وأجهزة الاستخبارات تتجسس عليها من جهة ثانية، يقدم صورة واقعية مئة بالمئة للحرب الجاسوسية الدائرة ضد القاعدة.
