موضوع علم الرؤيا من العلوم الروحانية المجردة التي لا تحس ولا تلمس بالجوارح المادية في القرآن الكريم وردت بمعان عدة ويراد بها البشرى، من الله تعالى لعبده المؤمن وللرؤيا ألفاظ مترادفة، منها ما ورد ذكره في كتاب الله تعالى ومنها ما ورد ذكره في لسان الناس مثل الرؤيا، الأحلام، الطيف. ولتعبير الرؤيا ألفاظ مترادفة أيضاً، إذ يقال التفسير ويعني البيان والكشف. والرؤيا أنواع فمنها ما يراه النائم، ويرجع فيها إلى الاعتقاد وهي ما يكون من الله عز وجل وما يكون من الملائكة، وما يكون من جهة النائم واعتقاداته. كما أن منها ما يكون بسبب اشتياق الإنسان للشيء، أو خوف من حيوان أو إنسان أو ما يكون من الشيطان الرجيم.
وهذا الكتاب مرجع مهم لتفسير الرؤيا والأحلام وفقاً لنظرة القرآن والسنة وبإمكان من يريد أن يستخرج رؤيا ويؤولها بدون مشقة ويكفي أن يأخذ اسم رؤياه بالاسم المشهور عند العرف، أي عامة الناس. ويبحث عنها بحسب الحروف الأبجدية.
