هذا الكتاب هو خلاصة لتجارب الدكتور "أحمد لواساني" التي تمتد ثلاث عشرة سنة في تعليم اللغة الفارسية في الجامعتين اللبنانية والأمريكية في بيروت، وهدفه منه أن ييسر على القارئ العربي تعلم هذه اللغة التي مازجت لغته طوال قرون، فلي ميدان الأدب والفكر والمفردات المتبادلة، مزاجاً وتراحماً حميماً جعل درس كل من اللغتين ضرورياً لفهم الكثير من المفردات والتراكيب في اللغة الأخرى، وللوقوف على المتون الأدبية والتاريخية والفلسفية التي تتناول ثقافتهما المشتركة العريقة.
وتعليم الفارسي للعربي يختلف عن تعليمها لأي شعب آخر من الشعوب العالم، لا فقط لأن الفارسية تكتب بالخط العربي وبحركاته، بل لأن نسبة المفردات التي دخلت من كل من اللغتين في شقيقتها، وبخاصة المفردات العربية التي دخلت في اللغة الفارسية، هي نسبة عالية لا نجدها في أي لغة عالمية أخرى عرفت كلمات دخيلة.
ويعني ذلك أن القارئ العربي يكون على معرفة بقسط كبير من اللغة الفارسية قبل أن يبدأ تعلمها، ولئن كان كثير من الدارسين يجهلون هذه الحقيقة، فإنهم سرعان ما يكتشفونها منذ الدروس الأولى، ويدركون أن الدرس الواحد المعد للدارس العربي، يحتاج تعلمه إلى جهد مضاعف فيما لو كان معداً للدارس غير عربي، لأن هذا الأخير سيقضي وقتاً آخر في تعلم الكلمات العربية التي يعرفها الأول بداهة.
إن هذا الأمر هو الذي يمكننا من القول بأن هذا الكتاب المؤلف من عشرين درساً فقط يضاف إليها أربعة دروس للتطبيق والمراجعة يكفي للإلمام إلماماً وافياً بأساليب البيان في اللغة الفارسية، ولفهم جميع تراكيبها بل وقسم كبير من تعابيرها.
