يعتمد العلماء في التأليف وجمع الأحاديث أكثر من طريقة، ومن طرقهم المسانيد وهي جمع الأحاديث بحسب الصحابي الراوي تحت باب واحد يسمى مسندا، ولو اختلفت مواضيع هذه الأحاديث من الأسانيد المهمة " مسند الحميدي " شيخ الإمام البخاري، فابتدأ فيه بمسانيد العشرة المبشرين بالجنة ثم المهاجرين والأنصار رجالا ونساء بلغت أحاديثه 1300 حديثا . وقد ختم مسنده ببيان عقيدته ومما يزيد الكتاب أهمية كون محققه العلامة المحدث حبيب الرحمن الأعظمي الذي ألحق بالكتاب فهرسا يرقب أحاديثه بحسب المواضيع الفقهية كالصحيحين ثم ألحقت بالكتاب فهارس علمية أخرى
