جمع المؤلف في هذا الكتاب أشهر المصطلحات في علم القراءات والأداء. فإذا أراد الطالب أو الباحث معرفة مصطلح ما، تناول هذا الكتاب بدلاً من عدة مجلدات ضخمة. وقد بدأ المؤلف الكتاب بتقديم عدد من المباحث التمهيدية الهادفة التي تتعلق بمادة الكتاب العلمية. وأتبعت هذه المباحث بالمصطلحات وقد وصلت لى (62) مصطلحاً عاماً أصلياً، وهناك الكثير من المصطلحات الثانوية التي وردت ضمناً في هذه المصطلحات العامة المشهورة والتي أتبعت بمتن الدرة المضيئة في القراءات الثلاث المتممة للعشرة لابن الجزري مشكولة شكلاً كاملاً وألحق ذلك بذكر بعض الفوائد المتعلقة ببعض المصطلحات من خلال إيراد الدليل والمثال من القرآن الكريم بعد تعريف المصطلح لغوياً واصطلاحياً وذلك في كثير من المصطلحات التي تناولها الكتاب، ثم ذكر أبيات من المتون تتعلق أيضاً بالمصطلحات. وقد تم تقديم مقتطفات من أشهر المتون وأشهر ما ألف في فن الأداء وعلم القراءات من كتب وموسوعات ومن ثم تم إيراد بعض الباحث المتممة للكتاب وهي تلي متن الدرة والتي تعتبر متممة لمادة الكتاب أيضاً. وقد وصل عدد المصادر والمراجع التي اعتمدها المؤلف إلى (101) مرجعاً ومصدراً.
