وقد غطّى الكتاب الموضوعات المتعلقة ببراءات الإختراع من حيث تعريفها وبيان محتوياتها وشروط منحها وحقوق صاحب البراءة وإلتزاماته، والمؤسسّات والجهات المهتّمة بحماية المخترعات، والتصنيف الدولي للبراءات، وتسليط الضوء على الإتجاهات العددية والسمات النوعية للبراءات والمآخذ عليها، والجهات المستفيدة منها وغيرها من الموضوعات الأخرى المفصّلة في قائمة المحتويات.
وقد زوّد الكتاب ببعض الملاحق الخاصة بأعداد براءات الإختراع، وقوانينها الصادرة في مجموعة من الأقطار العربية، وبعض المعاهدات والإتفاقيات الدولية، ونماذج لإستمارات طلب تسجيل البراءات وبعض صور هذه الوثائق في دول العالم المختلفة، ومجموعة من مواقع البحث عن البراءات.
