فساد يتجلى بأوضح صورة في تقرير للأمم المتحدة يبيّن أن أغنى 10%من البالغين يملكون 85%من الأصول العالمية. مما جعل رئيس مركز الأبحاث في منظمة Oxfam يصرّح بأنه "من المستحيل تبرير هذه الثروة الهائلة لـ 800 مليون شخص يبيتون جياعاً كل ليلة". وأن"من الضروري إعادة توزيع الثروة بتخلي الأغنياء عن جزء صغير من ممتلكاتهم ليكون التحول كبيراً في حياة الملايين".هذا الكلام في الواقع ما هو إلا تعريف مبسط للزكاة من وجهة النظر الاقتصادية الإسلامية. سوف تجد في هذا الكتاب دراسة موضوعية مقارنة تبين الأثر المرمم والإيجابي للزكاة في المجتمعات الحديثة.
