ولد عام 1946 في عدلون ـ لبنان الجنوبي.
أكمل المرحلة الثانوية في صور, وحصل على الثانوية العامة من القاهرة, وعلى إجازة اللغة العربية وآدابها من كلية التربية ـ الجامعة اللبنانية 1974 .
عمل في التدريس, وفي الصحف اللبنانية مثل: السفير, والنهار, بالإضافة إلى المجلات الأدبية والثقافية مثل: مواقف, والطريق, وفي مركز الأبحاث العربية.
دواوينه الشعرية: أبدأ من رقم يمشي 1978 ـ الكلام أيضاً 1982 - ظلال لسيرة التائه 1991 - كأنني الآن 1996.
أعماله الإبداعية الأخرى: حكايات الشاعر بلوزار (رواية) 1988 - هدوء حذر (قصص) 1999.
مؤلفاته: مختارات من الشعر الأمريكي المعاصر - مقدمتان لكتاب (المواقف والمخاطبات) لمحمد بن عبدالجبار بن الحسن.
