الكتاب الذي بين يدي القارىء عبارة عن مجموعة من البحوث والمقالات التي سطرتها يراع السيد محمد الصدر طاب ثراه خلال عقد من الزمن امتد من سنة 1380ه إلى سنة 1390ه، وقد بلغ عددها (62) مقالاً في مختلف المجالات الفكرية والأدبية، مضافاً إلى المقطوعات الشعرية التي لم تنشر إلى الآن. وقد نشر من المقالات في حينه (18) مقالاً تقريباً بينما ينشر الباقي وعدده (44) للمرة الأولى عبر هذه الأوراق.
وبعد دراسة مضمون هذه المقالات، عمدنا إلى تقسيمها إلى مجموعتين رئيسيتين: 1- مجموعة المقالات الفكرية: وقد ضمت بين طياتها مجموعة كبيرة من المقالات التي عالجت بشكل رئيس مختلف المفاهيم من وجهة نظر الإسلام من قبيل التوحيد الإلهي، القانون، الأسرة، الكفاءة، العلاقات الإجتماعية، الوعي، الموت، البعث، العبادة، الفطرة، المعجزة، السلوك الإنساني، الإرادة، التربية، الحرية إلى غير ذلك من المقالات العلمية المحضة والمرتبطة بعلم أصول الفقه.
2- مجموعة المقالات الأدبية: وقد ضمت بين طياتها جملة من المقالات القرآنية التي تعالج جوانب مختلفة من القصص القرآني إضافة إلى تعليقات نقدية على جملة من الكتب الأدبية المعروفة لكتّاب كبار من أمثال: توفيق الحكيم، وسيد قطب، وطه حسين، وعباس محمود العقاد، إلى جانب العديد من المقالات التي عالجت موضوعات أدبية من وجهة نظر رسالته.
