اعتمد المؤلف في معالجته لهذا الموضوع منهجية إستنباطية، ترتكز على النصوص القانونية من جهة، وعلى النظريات الفقهية، والأحكام القضائية التي تناولت هذا الموضوع في العراق ولبنان ومصر وفرنسا من جهة خرى.
وبناء على ما تقدم تم تقسيم الدراسة على قسمين: بحث القسم الأول في: الإثبات الجزائي بالدليل العلمي والبصمة الوراثية، أما القسم الثاني فتحرى: تطبيقات البصمة الوراثية في الإثبات الجزائي. وأخيرا إستنتاجات وتوصيات الدراسة.
